Cormac doubles up Junior success
Cormac Kerr was seeing double in
Blackpool after claiming his second major
trophy of the year.
Four months after becoming Junior
European champion, the 17-year-old from
Drogheda defeated Irish team mate, Ben
Doyle, to win the WEPF Junior World
version.
“I really don’t know how to describe it,”
said delighted Kerr after his 8-6 success.
“I would have been happy with one of
them. Now I have won both.
“This was completely my goal when I first
picked up a cue but it doesn’t feel like it’s
happened.
“It still feels like I have another game to
play,” added Kerr who defeated another
Irish prospect, Adam Maher 7-1 in the Junior Winner - Cormac Kerr
semi-finals. the same venue last February.
“It was hard because Ben is my team mate, Kerr also knocked out Australia’s Jayden
and I would have preferred to play some- Domeika 7-6 in the quarter-finals; the latter
one from a different country. voted top player in the World Junior team.
